To get out of the usual boring weekend routine of eating, shopping and chilling my friends and their friends decided to do Klue. Klue is a treasure hunt/scavenger hunt around kuwait. We were two teams of 5 girls each, well we were supposed 2 be 5 grls each bas maskeena one of the girls on the other team got sick and couldn’t make it. It was sooo mcuh fun, I haven’t had this much fun in so long. I’m really competitive so the adrenaline rush I got from the game was amazing. We literally went around kuwait, from free trade zone to avenues to mashatel to imbarikiya, 7adeeqat el shi3ib and bil ghalaaaaa6 we went 2 f7ai7eel lol!! But we won!! ;p we named our selves team jlai3a … We even made shirts .. 7adna mishta6een ha? ;p

Wow, I can’t believe I haven’t blogged in almost 6 months.  Ma 3indi salfa and that is why I haven’t written in so long.  Not much has happened, I traveled, started work again, got a new car,  got an extension on my dissertation and the icing on the cake was that I embarressed my self on TV.

How did I embaress my self on TV?  I come home from work one day and shocked to have found our house turned upside down with cameras all around for an interview with my mom.  After a 5 minute negotiation with my aunt (which I lost) she forced me to get ready and be on TV with my mother.  Ofcourse I tried every trick in the book to get out of it, but I couldn’t, my negotiation skills are not as good as theirs ofcourse.  Anyways, when the cameras started rolling my heart was beating so hard I dunno why! I was SO NEROVUS and scared.  It was a bigger fear than when I speak in public (giving presentations and stuff).

6ab3an the guy asked me a question and I answered it in the WORST WAY POSSIBLE.  Ya3ni badliya min umaaah lool.  Ofcourse my friends ma ir7amooni min il ti3yb.  The interview was a couple of months ago and my friend and family will STILL not let me live it down :p  I was so nervous that what I wanted to say came out in a completely wrong way …. OOPS :p

Finally! I am back in Kuwait! I have been here for a couple of days but I have been out of the coverage area. The day I arrived I slept for 13 hours, I have not slept that long in ages!! As I was trying to fall asleep tawa, ga3adt atgalab bas il noom mo yayly chan astaw3ib laish .. ana mayta min il yoo3! I’m really starving for some reason, Anyways … I have good and bad news .. but I will start with the good news ..

1.  I PASSED THE CLASS!!!! I emailed the prof and the head of the department and I stated my case and my side of the story, basically telling them that its not fair for them to fail me I dont think I deserve to fail and they passed me. (Intlxpatr was right, negotiation does work haha!)

2. My friend Nwair is graduating from jam3a .. YAAAY!!!!!!

I think thats the good news for now .. now on with the bad news .. well its bad news for me …

Coming back to Kuwait I flew Emirates airlines because I found a really good deal and I had to take it.  So I checked in on time, shopped a little in Terminal 3 of heathrow then headed up to the lounge.  As I was sitting enjoying staring aimlessly out of the window at the planes coming and going I heard my name over the speakers.  so I went to see the main reception of the lounge and the lady working there told me that while trying to load my bag into the plane the tag was lost which basically meant that my bag was lost.  I had two suitcases and one of them was lost.  The one that got lost had my nice shoes and if you know me, you know how hard it is for me to find shoes.  I would go into a store tell them my size and get laughed at. the bag also had the stuff I got for my mom and other people, and most importantly it had my new straightner! I had just bought it two weeks ago oo jaad ma 6ala3t qeemta! I don’t even remember what else was in there, bas I know most of the stuff I bought on the last day I was in london was in that bag.I am SOOO angry at Emirates Airlines, I mean how could they lose a bag an hour after I checked it in! And they still cannot locate it.  Before I borded the plane they told me that they will probably locate it once I get to Kuwait, and still no news at all.  You know what   kills me, its not the amount of money I paid for my things, but some of the things I got were found while I was lost.  I’d be walking around trying to find a specific place and on the way I find these cute little boutiques and I end up going in and getting stuff.  I am so frustrated!!!! I want to go into the place where they have all their unclaimed bags and try to find mine!!

On a completly other note, I arrived at around 9:15 PM, and when I came home there was machboos deyay waiting to be devoured by me.  Akhhhhh I ate like a little girl (yeah right).  Yala ye3t baroo7 ashoofli shay akla.

Seriously … F**** my bad grade …. I just left the britney spears concert and I had an amazing time…I love her!! Sorry no pics this time! There was a spotlight on her at all times that any pictures were horrible. Our place was amazing and the concert was awesome. She rocks!!!!! Videos are coming soon I promise.

I was checking my grades today and I failed one of my classes.  I have never ever failed anything before in my life, EVER.  All through my undergrad years to me a C+ was a fail! and I FAILED THE CLASS THAT I THOUGHT I DID SO WELL IN! The only assessment in that class is a research paper, and I thought the paper I wrote was very good.  I based my writing style, my research and my analysis on the grading criteria that they gave us, and I failed.
I am one point away from the passing grade, I can’t believe he didn’t give me that one point.  That means I have to write a whole new paper at the same time that I am trying to research and write my dissertation.  I am still in shock, oo wala 7ada thayeg khulgi mani em9adga.

I am struggling with my dissertation proposal.  Why is that.  Cuz I still didnt think of a topic! AND ITS DUE ON FRIDAY! I am freaking out.  I need to have 2,500 words written on my topic, how i’m going to research it, the data gathering and all of that.  I am about to go crazy. Help anyone?  I need to write something that has to do with Strategic Quality Management.  (TQM, Management systems, the ISO’s, ERP, CRM, Change Management, PErformance Evaluation, Project management, etc etc) yeah so I am gonna die right??:p

I’m so happy that 4 women made it into tha majlis.  And im even more happy that 2 of them were leading!!

I was going to post about this topic a couple of days ago, but a) I had finals and b) I have recently become lazy.   By typing up this post I am procrastinating going out to get my cousin a birthday present and her bday is tomorrow! Anyways eshda3wa blogged about it before me, but I will still write about it :p

I am 24 turning 25 after the summer, and I am in no huge rush to get married, and the thought of it scares the bejeezus out of me.  But anyways, my mothers friends think I am getting too old and have taken it upon themselves to try to find me a “3arees” against my will.  I have a couple of traits I like in a man and a couple of traits I dont like in a man (just like any other human being).  Just like in girls (when selecting friends) there are traits that I cant tolerate, but with friendships its different because your not living with them 24/7 so you can over look some things right?  To some people I am told that I AM TOO PICKY, oo itha ga3adt 3ala hal 7ala I will never find a man.

Well why shouldn’t I be picky?  Most men are picky, while some men as their mothers to look for girls based on looks “aby wa7da samra” or “aby wa7da baytha” etc.  See the things I like in a man are not physical.  Looks are not that important to me as long as I see the man attractive (and my taste is different than that of all my friends).  But for me personality is extremly important (cliche but true).  I like a man to have a strong personality, as much fun as it is to amashy wa7id 3ala kaify, I don’t want that trait in a man.  I don’t want him to be a dictator but I do want to feel like he is the actual man of the house.  Its not like we won’t discuss major issues and come to a middle ground but you get my drift right? Another thing is ma7ib a guy to be extremely shy.  Then again everyone is different and some girls might like shy guys.  I don’t one fa9ikh il7aya completly bas I want a man, when put in a situation with my family or friends he will be able to communicate, joke around and feel comfortable.    Having the same interests is extremly important for me as well, such as sports, politics, economics and food.  Yes food is an interest and it is important to me.  And the last factor is the kuwaitiness level.  As much as I come off as a chicken nugget, I do have a kuwaiti side to me.  o0 maby wa7id totally americanized oo ma yetkalam 3arabi wayed oo ma yegra 3arabi at all.  ya3ni ma abeeh ikoon 7acher oo mokha imgafel bas ikoon tafkeera on the same level as me. Oh yes and he has to be social, he has to have his own circle of friends.

And I agree that most married couples shouldn’t have kids in the first 2 years of a marriage, not because the marriage might not work out, but because its during that time when they start to really get to know each other.  No matter how long you dated, or even during il khe6ba wil micha phase, you truly don’t know a person until you live with them.  I also think that it is important to care about/love/like the person you marry, because like every human they will have 3yoob, and if you care about them then you’ll be willing to stay quiet regarding somethings.  I also think that people should enjoy that time to travel and have fun, because once the kids come everything is different and your life will revolve around your babies.

I am not against the institution of marriage, I do want someone to settle with, to be my partner etc etc.  But just because he looks good on paper doesn’t mean hes a good candidate.
