Lets talk about L.O.V.E

Since Valentine’s day is just around the corner, I keep on thinking about love, what really is love? Seriously! Okay I know what it means to love my family and friends but how do you know if your ” IN LOVE ” with someone? Is there such a thing as love at first sight?? Okay that was a stupid question, because I don’t believe in Love at first sight, its more like lust at first sight.  But what leads a person to think they are in love with another?  Is it an internal peace?? 😛 Or butterflies in the stomach?
This whole love shebang is annoying me, and its confusing me because I don’t know what I am saying, but I got this off Wikipedia.org

Love is a basic dimension of human experience that is variously conveyed as a sense of tender affection, an intense attraction, the foundation of intimacy and good interpersonal chemistry, willing self-sacrifice on behalf of another, and as an ineffable sense of affinity or connection to nature, other living beings, or even that which is unseen. It manifests itself in feelings, emotion, behavior, thoughts, perception and attitude. It influences, underlies and defines major patterns in interpersonal relationships and self-identification.”

I read somewhere that love is friendship on fire, or something like that, and sometimes I think it is true, because what’s better than being in love with your best friend, or turning your loved one into your best friend (from the opposite sex ;p) Then you’ll have both the trust/respect/loyalty etc issues covered along with the intimacy issues.
Although love is a VERY strong force, and it makes people do stupid things, for example give up their family or friends to be with someone.  I don’t think I would ever love a person who would allow me to do that, because if it is easy for him to see me give up the most essential people in my life, what else would he let me do?? Also I think I would be the dumbest person in the world to give up my family for the sake of a guy, what do you all think?

and to end this entry with a quote from one of the most well known love stories ever . “Romeo and Juliet” by Shakespeare
Romeo: Is love a tender thing? It is too rough, too rude, too boisterous, and it pricks like thorn.
Mercutio: If love be rough with you, be rough with love. Prick love for pricking and you beat love down.  If love be rough with you, be rough with love. Prick love for pricking and you beat love down.
