Gift Ideas

Getting a meaningful gift is very hard.  To some people it doesn’t matter if it is meaningful or not as long as its material, but for me it is the thought that counts, but anyways, i’m going to ask you guys a couple of questions.

What do you get your mother as a birthday present?

What do you get your 21 year old brother for his birthday?

What would you get a girl who has everything?

    1. Your mom, a full day at the SPA! I didn that with mine – she was happy 🙂

    2. Your brother… wallet or clothes item or give him money to get whatever he wanst

    3. Girl that has everything, well – a gift is symbolic so she has to appreciate whatever you do – get for her. why not organize a surprise b-day party at some place.. according to your budget of course 🙂 – you can take pics too ..

Your questions are too deep for me Chirp. But I’ll give it a shot.

The thing is people differ. For example, ChikaP’s mom would like the spa. My mom would hate it because she hates people touching her.
What about your mom, is she the type of person who likes to get pampered? If she is: get her a day at the spa, or a gift card for a couple of manicures at n-bar or whatever. My mom wouldn’t like that stuff. My mom would love a full day with all her kids and maybe a nice family portrait signed by all of us to her or something like that.

As for your bro, get him a condom and give him your blessings. Lol, j/k. J/k. Don’t do that. He’s 21? Giving him a nice pimped out outfit with a khashkha wallet that he could blast into his first legal night in the clubs would be perfect.

As for a girl who has everything. If you are close to her, I agree with Chika, give her something symbolic that reaffirms your friendship and show her how well you know each other. If your more like distant friends get her any of the typical items: wallet, purse, gift card to her favourite store.

Wow, I’m like Dr. Phil…. but not.

For her last birthday, I bought a year (once a month) of manicure/pedicure certificates. She LOVES being pampered, it is close to her home, and all she has to do is tip. She would never do it on her own, but she goes every month because she loves it (and she couldn’t bear for a certificate to be wasted by not being used.)

For my best friend, who really does have everything and can buy anything she wants, I am making something I know she wants, something she has admired. She has no idea I am doing it for her and I know she will treasure it.

Boys – a gift certificate or cash for the latest tech-item.

Personally, I’d give either one of the following according to my humble (yet generous) budget:

    ~For Mom:

A full perfume kit – A small gold necklace – A gift card from her favorite store

    ~For Brother:

An iPod Touch – Playstation Portable – A full surround system
